Gaza Strip Residents Better Prepared to Face the COVID-19 Outbreak
Knowledge sharing is essential to providing people all around the world with the capabilities to help others. This is exactly why ITF has been actively collaborating with Zavod NUR, a fellow Slovenian non-profit organization. Recently, ITF and Zavod NUR have started working on a new project that aims to provide communities in the Gaza Strip with additional support that will help them better face the COVID-19 crisis.
Due to high risk of rapid spread of the coronavirus among the Palestinian population, ITF and Zavod NUR have executed an online training course on different ways of preventing the coronavirus as well as the important role of proper disinfection. The course was implemented in cooperation with Ms. Irena Zupančič Knavs, a graduated medical nurse from the University Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (URI Soča).

In addition, ITF has provided local hospitals and medical institutions as well as other residents of the Gaza Strip with much-needed medical and protective equipment that will allow them to stay safe and healthy. Moreover, various educational materials were distributed throughout the area in order to educate the local communities of the dangers posed by COVID-19 and ways of preventing the disease.
ITF is sincerely grateful to the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their invaluable support in making these activities possible.
