ITF in Figures
A total of 537,724,664.00 USD of donations entrusted to ITF for managing over 3,100 programs and projects.
31 countries, the European Union, the UN Development Program, the UN Mine Action Service, OPEC Fund for International Development, the Council of Europe Development Bank, over 10 local authorities in mine affected countries, 300 international and local public and private companies, non-governmental organizations and individuals have donated funds through ITF;
Mine and UXO clearance
Over 160 million square meters of mine and UXO contaminated land has been cleared in South East Europe, Lebanon and Azerbaijan.
2 countries in the region of South East Europe have already achieved mine impact free status – North Macedonia (2006) and Albania (2009).
Mine/UXO victim assistance
1,350 mine survivors received rehabilitation treatment in Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lebanon.
Over 17,500 mine survivors and other disabled persons received psycho-social assistance.
Over 1,644 children received psychosocial or medical support.
Over 950 mine survivors that were engaged in socio-economic programs received either economic assets, loans or scholarships.
Risk education
Over 54,000 people in mine affected countries directly received mine disability awareness messages on annual basis.
More than 500,000 school children and adults in mine contaminated areas received mine risk education directly.
Approximately 610,000 family members in these communities received mine risk education indirectly.
Supported the creation of 8 educational films for children and 4 mine risk education Public Education Campaigns.
Capacity building, training and regional cooperation
Nearly 1,400 experts received training in the field of humanitarian demining, victim assistance, stockpile destruction and/or mine action management.
15 Mine Actions Centres received support, including 6 projects relating to Mine Action Centres that are currently receiving support in order to build national capabilities.
Conventional weapons destruction
Over 1,300,000 items of excess ammunition have been destroyed.
277,500 dangerous ammunitions and 91 tones of UXO were removed after ammunition depot explosions.
