On the 20th anniversary of Slovenia’s UN Membership - 20 July 2012 – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited Slovenia and met with his host, Prime Minister Janez Janša, and was received by the Slovenian President, Dr Danilo Türk, and the President of the Slovenian National Assembly, Dr Gregor Virant were also Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec took part in the discussions. The Secretary-General also addressed the deputies of the National Assembly at the formal session.
Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon represented acknowledgement of Slovenia’s work and highly appreciated its contribution to demining activities through the ITF Enhancing Human Security, non-profit humanitarian organization that was established by Slovenia in March 1998.
