Training for UXO Detection And Removal- Level 2

CROMAC Center for Testing, Development and Training LT (CROMAC CTDT) from Croatia successfully finished Training for UXO Detection and Removal - Level 2. The training was held in Topusko, Croatia between 07 November and 18 November 2011.
The basic aim of the project was to provide quality education to candidates, in order for them to acquire contemporary expert knowledge and skills required for independent, competent, effective and safe participation in the process of removal and deactivation of UXO, that are found outside mine suspected areas and/or buildings, and in order for them to acquire necessary knowledge to oversee these processes. The aim was also to educate candidates to quickly and correctly recognize circumstances (UXO, space – work-site, weather and other conditions as prerequisites for efficient and safe work) that dictate specific approach, planning, organization and methods and resources selection in order to carry out activities of UXO removal and deactivation.
Upon completion of Level 2, the candidates will be trained to independently locate, identify, remove, transport and neutralize unexploded ordnances that are used in the army. 10 nominees from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia participated on a NUS training. 9 participant successfully completed training.
The training was funded by Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U. S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political- Military Affairs through ITF.
