The Czech Republic contributes once again for ITF activities

HE Mr. Petr Voznica, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Slovenia and Mr. Dorijan Maršič, ITF Director signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a donation of more than € 15.000 (CZK 425.000) for the implementation of ITF projects in Bosnia Herzegovina (€ 5.000 for demining project in municipality Lopare in Bosnia Herzegovina and € 10.000 for mine victims assistance project in Bosnia Herzegovina). HE Mr. Voznica is a regular member and the former chairman of the ITF Advisory board and is well acquainted with the mine problem in South East Europe and especially in Bosnia Herzegovina.
The Czech Republic has been supporting ITF and its demining / MVA programs since 1998 - the very beginning of ITF. Since 1999 Czech Republic donated a total of € 1.067.974,37 for demining and MVA projects in South East Europe and the Caucasus region. The Czech Republic supported demining projects in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Kosovo** and in Georgia (in 2009). With funds donated by the Czech Republic a total of 1.5 million sq.m. have been cleared thus far. The Czech Republic also supported the implementation of MVA projects in the region of South East Europe and especially the project for rehabilitation of children from Gaza, the victims of armed conflicts ( in 2010 and 2011).
