Tbilisi Regional Conference on Socio-Economic Reintegration of Mine Victims
On 5-6 December 2011, the ITF and the IOM Georgia organized a regional conference titled “Towards a Socio-Economic Reintegration of Persons with Disabilities – A Case of Landmine Victims” at the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia.
On 5-6 December 2011, the ITF and the IOM Georgia organized a regional conference titled “Towards a Socio-Economic Reintegration of Persons with Disabilities – A Case of Landmine Victims” at the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia. The conference was attended by more than 40 representatives from the national authorities, diplomatic missions, and international and non-government organizations in South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia).
The conference provided a suitable platform to exchange the experiences and best practices on socio-economic reintegration of persons with disabilities, including mine victims, into their societies. It provided suitable ground to explore options in finding effective ways for further progress in this area. The conference also featured presentation of the documentary film “A Way to Reintegration” produced as a part of the ITF run project “South Caucasus Socio-Economic Reintegration Programme for Mine Victims”.
