On 10 November 2012 four patients from Egypt arrived at the University Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (URI So?a) for rehabilitation treatment. Children were accompanied by two physiotherapists who also arrived at URI So?a for on-the-job training.
Project was implemented on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovenian Embassy in Cairo (Ambassador Dr. Robert Kokalj). ITF implemented the project “Rehabilitation of four patients from Egypt” in co-operation with the University Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (URI So?a) and included rehabilitation of children/victims of conflict from Egypt as well as local/national capacity building in the field of rehabilitation. Patients were victims of revolutionary engagements in Egypt in January 2011 and victims at the football game in Port Said on February 2011.
H.E. Ms Heba Sidhom, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt visited patients and physiotherapists from Egypt at URI So?a and distributed gifts. H.E. Ms Heba Sidhom also organized reception for patients and physiotherapists as well as for donors and the implementing partner on the project at the Egyptian Embassy.
Children and physiotherapists stayed at URI So?a for fourteen days (until 24 November 2012).
