Nataliia Completes Fourth Phase of Rehabilitation

Comprehensive rehabilitation is key in order to enable victims to successfully integrate into their community. For Nataliia, a victim of armed conflict in Ukraine this is the fourth time undergoing rehabilitation at the University Rehabilitation Institute – URI Soča. Just last year people all across Slovenia helped raise funds for her rehabilitation through the Lend Your Leg campaign, and this year, we were fortunate enough to facilitate the project with the support by ITF, Republic of Slovenia - Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ireland.
Nataliia received a new leg prosthesis and a bathing prosthesis and continued with her rehabilitation, which amongst others includes sports activities, walking school, etc. Some of our frequent readers might also remember that Nataliia was in Slovenia already this year in March, when she gracefully agreed to be one of the Faces of ITF, and spread the word of the work we do.
Victims that require prosthesis have to replace them every couple of years, which is even more noticeable with children, who are growing and as such have to change them even more often. As such, we are certain that it is not the last time that Nataliia has been to Slovenia, especially considering she fell in love with it, and would love to one day study and live there.
