Mine Action Capacity Building Program in Libya

In January 2014, ITF has initiated implementation of mine action capacity building program in Libya that is being funded by the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs. The overall goal of the 12-month project is to support Libyan state institutions to exercise effective control over conventional weapons and ammunitions, to minimize the risk of the illicit spread of conventional weapons and ammunition, and to manage the security related consequences of the Libyan armed conflict.
To enable implementation of capacity building program, ITF has opened implementation office in Tripoli, Libya.
