Memorandum of Understanding signed with Cranfield University
Signed MoU envisages that Cranfield University and the ITF will work together to implement programmes and projects in fragile states and post-conflict countries, and promote the development of national capacities through education and training.
Professor Ian Wallace, the Head of Cranfield Defence and Security and Mr. Dorijan Marši?, Director of ITF Enhancing Human Security signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 16 February 2012 at Cranfield University’s Shrivenham campus. The MOU envisages that Cranfield University and the ITF will work together to implement programmes and projects in fragile states and post-conflict countries, and promote the development of national capacities through education and training.
Cranfield University is the pre-eminent European institution in teaching and research in the fields of defence, security, technology and management. The University has significant experience in the development and delivery of training programmes to national authorities, defence forces, the emergency services and related agencies worldwide. It is the key training provider to the UK´s Ministry of Defence for whom it delivers a range of accredited programmes, from short courses through to postgraduate degrees and diplomas. The University has five schools: Health, Applied Science, Management, Engineering, and Defence and Security.
The MOU recognises that Cranfield University and the ITF share a common vision of a world free of the threat from disruptive events and disasters, and both organisations respect their unique and complementary capabilities and strengths.
Cranfield University and the ITF have worked together for nearly a decade on a number of programmes and projects in South East Europe and the South Caucasus. The signing of the MOU marks the start of a much more comprehensive partnership.
