International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF) has provided to Kukes Regional Hospital in Albania a portable x-ray and three othopaedic surgical kits. The equipment was provided under United States Department of State donation. As Kukes lies in the north-east of Albania and is, thus, the closest town to the mine affected area, its need to treat mine victims is the greatest. In order to avoid long and costly transports of mine victims to hospital in Tirana, Kukes hospital acquired much needed equipment that will greatly help better and quicker assistance to victims on the more professional and quality level.
At the handover event held on 23 November, Hospital Director Mark Nufi, American Embassy official Ningchuan Zhu and ITF Director Dorijan Marši? gave short speeches expresing mutual gratitude and wishes of continuation of good cooperation and support to the region.
