On 09 June 2011, ITF and Arab League signed Memorandum of Understanding in Kairo, Egypt expressing their mutual wish to relieve the ravages of conflicts in Middle East and develop sufficient medical and rehabilitation care for mine/UXO victims through training program of Telemedicine Network.
Telemedicine is being used for exchange of medical information from one site to another via electronic communications to improve patients' health status.
Establishment of sophisticated and integrated multinational Telemedicine Network will improve treatment and rehabilitation programs for the victims and contribute to reducing mortality and morbidity of landmine/unexploded ordnance/improvised explosive devices injuries and other causes of trauma and major injuries.
Telemedicine provides medical personnel with the right information at the right time in a timely manner.
