Ireland Contributes to Post-Conflict Stabilization in Ukraine

Ig, 12 August 2016 – ITF is pleased to announce that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland has approved a grant of 20,000 EUR to support the work of ITF in Ukraine and its operations providing equipment for clearance of areas contaminated by mines, cluster munitions and unexploded ordnance as well as rehabilitation services for minors affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
As emphasized by the donor, the conflict in Ukraine has claimed more than 9,000 lives to date and the work of ITF plays a vital role in enhancing security and confidence in the conflict-affected areas providing relief to the civilian populations in Donetsk and Luhansk. These important tasks are ones on which Ireland places an enormous value and thus looks forward to working alongside ITF in assisting it with these responsibilities.
