H.E. Mr Freddy Padilla de León, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Austria visited ITF
On 14 June 2011 H.E. Mr Freddy Padilla de León, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Austria and Mr Howell Ricardo Quimbaya Morales, Minister and Alternate Representative visited ITF.
On 14 June 2011 H.E. Mr Freddy Padilla de León, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Austria and Mr Howell Ricardo Quimbaya Morales, Minister and Alternate Representative visited ITF. Mr Dorijan Marši?, ITF Director gave general presentation on ITF together with its mission, goals, wide area of activities and results achieved so far. General introduction of ITF continued with presentation by Mr Mitja Hegler, ITF Project Manager, who presented already implemented ITF activities in Colombia and plans for future projects, with an aim to provide effective rehabilitation treatment to mine survivors and other disabled people and to enhance the long-term capacity of Colombian rehabilitation services.
H.E. Mr. Padilla expressed sincere gratitude to the ITF for very important and excellent work that has been done in Colombia and stressed the importance to further strengthen already successful cooperation.
ITF representatives stressed the importance of signing new Memorandum of Understanding with authorized authority in Colombia, which will contribute to further and stronger ITF involvement in Colombia and fund raising activities. At the end of the meeting Mr Roman Turši?, Head of ITF Implementation Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina gave short presentation on Decision Support System Project that has been already implemented in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since the developed technology enables substantial land release by non-technical method, this project would be beneficial to Colombian Mine Action programme if applied.
