German donation to ITF
On 24 May 2011 Mr Dorijan Maršič, ITF Director, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with H.E. Mr Werner Burkart, German Ambassador to Slovenia, for the donation in amount of 490.000 EUR.
Mr Dorijan Maršič, ITF Director, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H.E. Mr Werner Burkart, German Ambassador to Slovenia, for the donation in amount of 490.000 EUR. MoU was signed on 24 May 2011 at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ljubljana, and the donation has been earmarked for demining activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on locations Donji Vukšič (Brčko District), Kostrč (Posavina Canton) and Turič (Tuzla Canton). Activities will be implemented by NGO Norwegian People`s Aid in period from April to November 2011.
Federal Republic of Germany has altogether donated more than 20 million EUR and is one of major and regular ITF donors.
Demining in Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the key factors for the restoration of normalcy in the country. Long-standing support of the Federal Republic of Germany to ITF confirms that ITF gained the confidence and full support of its donors for excellent work and has therefore become a reference institution in the field of Mine Action.
