Fantomi of Sarajevo Secure 11th European Champions Title in Sitting Volleyball

OKI Fantomi of Sarajevo, founded in 1995, is a team consisting primarily of war-injured amputees who have found solace and strength in the sport of sitting volleyball. Through their unwavering dedication and commitment, they have achieved remarkable success, including their recent triumph of securing their 11th European club title in sitting volleyball at the 2023 Sitting Volleyball Men's European Champions Cup held in Dresden, Germany.
Since 2005, ITF has proudly supported Fantomi, offering vital assistance to the team. Thanks to generous donations from individuals, organizations, and governments committed to enhancing human security, ITF's support has been instrumental in the team's growth and achievements. This support has allowed for significant investments in capacity enhancement, enabling their participation in numerous prestigious tournaments such as Sarajevo Open, an international event organized annually by OKI Fantomi. Sarajevo Open has become a highly anticipated tournament, attracting national teams and elite club sides from around the world, showcasing the talent and competitiveness of sitting volleyball.
However, the collaboration between ITF and Fantomi extends beyond the realm of sports. Sitting volleyball holds immense importance for mine victims and individuals with disabilities, serving as a powerful tool for advocacy, mine risk education, and victim assistance. By supporting OKI Fantomi and other initiatives, ITF actively promotes the inclusion and well-being of mine victims.
