Closing event “CROATIA TWENTY YEARS AFTER - mine victims”
On 13 December 2011, the “Association for Promotion of Equal Opportunities - APEO” organization from Zagreb, Croatia held a closing event for the project “CROATIA TWENTY YEARS AFTER - mine victims: where are they, what do they do, what do they need”.
On 13 December 2011, the “Association for Promotion of Equal Opportunities - APEO” organization from Zagreb, Croatia held a closing event for the project “CROATIA TWENTY YEARS AFTER - mine victims: where are they, what do they do, what do they need”.
Organization APEO, being the beneficiary of the Project, concluded a year’s work on the project resulting in promotion of the brochure with the same name. The brochure is a valuable contribution to everyone who is related to mine action as well as to all other subjects interested in this matter as it gives an overview of the current number of mine victims in Croatia, their current situation and offers results based on the research of 400 hundred mine victims current quality of life. It also includes ten interviews offering detailed stories on circumstances leading to their wounding, stories on implementation of their rights, their healing and their current position within the society.
The project was funded by the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs through ITF.
