Canada Provides Equipment for BHMAC
On 23 March 2018, ITF signed a Contribution Agreement with the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development for the provision of 22 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) (demining visors and protective vests) for Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Center (BHMAC). The official hand-over of the equipment took place on 27 March 2018.

Canadian generous support represents an important step in promoting peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) by providing essential PPE for the use by BHMAC field operational staff, inspectors and surveyors.

Providing the highly required equipment for BHMAC brings BIH closer to the goal of achieving a mine free status. With the new 22 PPE equipment sets not only the lives of the BHMAC employees will be protected, but this contribution will also provide security for the individuals and the society, in which they operate. This means that individuals and residents in mine suspected areas, displaced persons and returnees, are able to live their lives safely, return to their homes and lands, and start their normal life again – without the threat of mines.
