2nd Meeting of SEEMACC Working Group
With the purpose to explore the options and to develop new SEEMACC strategy 2011-2015, the 2nd meeting of SEEMACC Working Group on Strategy was held in Šibenik, Croatia, on 28 April 2011.

With the purpose to explore the options and to develop new SEEMACC strategy 2011-2015, the 2nd meeting of SEEMACC Working Group on Strategy was held in Šibenik, Croatia, on 28 April 2011 and was moderated by Mr Luka Buhin, ITF Project Manager and Roman Turši?, ITF Head of IO Sarajevo.
On the 1st meeting of SEEMACC Working Group, four options for development of new SEEMACC strategy 2011-2015 were proposed:
- Option 1: Retain the current vision and mission, i.e. limited to Mine Action and action related to Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) primarily in SE Europe (plus Azerbaijan). Additionally, facilitate SEEMACC's assistance to other non-member countries and non-observers.
- Option 2: Retain the same area of geographical interest, but develop expanded vision and mission to support other related areas such as wider area of Conventional Weapons Destruction (CWD). Subsequently, consider expanding the member and/or observer base.
- Option 3: Retain the current vision and mission focusing on Mine Action, but expand the area of geographical interest. Subsequently, expand the member and/or observer base.
- Option 4: Expand the area of geographical interest and develop an expanded vision and mission to support other areas of disarmament works in support of national humanitarian, reconstruction and development efforts.
At the 2nd meeting of SEEMACC Working Group the four strategic options were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from following SEEMACC member/observer organizations: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action; Croatian Mine Action Center; CROMAC - Center for Testing, Development and Training; International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance; Regional Center for Underwater Demining (Montenegro); Regional Mine Detection Dog Centre (Bosnia and Herzegovina); Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Center and Republic of Macedonia Protection and Rescue Directorate.
