New SEEMACC regional project launched
Based on the initiative of ITF, HCR-CTDT and Croatian research community the project “Deployment of the Decision Support System for Mine Suspected Area Reduction” was launched.
On 26 February 2008 the kick-off meeting between ITF, HCR-CTDT and Croatian research community was held, announcing the official start of the project “Deployment of the Decision Support System for Mine Suspected Area Reduction”.
A 1-year project aims to conceive and prepare a decision making support system for operational deployment in mine action centres within SEEMACC countries applicable on a level of mine action strategic management and planning. The system is based on highly advanced data fusion methodology. The overall project goal is to enhance the level of land release and enable an efficient allocation of resources.
The project is supported by the United States through ITF.
