ITF Visited 12 Europe-Ukraine Forum
Between 24 and 25 January ITF joined over 400 participants at the 12 Europe-Ukraine Forum in Rzeszow, Poland. Central and Eastern Europe countries are one of the many important areas where ITF is planning to expand its presence and activities. With the focus on the development of Poland and neighboring Ukraine, the conference had various thematic panels on issues of economy and development, European integration and reforms, international politics and society.
The conference offered ITF the opportunity to meet local counterparts from regions where we are currently present, such as Ukraine and Belarus, where we discussed possible development of additional activities in the mentioned countries. Besides the counterparts from various ministries, army officials and governmental bodies, many humanitarian NGOs were present as well.
In general, the conference enabled ITF to be present on the international stage with many decision makers, where important steps are being made towards establishing peace in Ukraine. The panelists emphasized the role of the Three Seas Initiative, the vision of Germany and the European Union in the process of providing development of infrastructure, reforms and aid to the wider society. It was clear that in the future, the region of Eastern Europe will need help with demining, victims assistance, mine risk education and wider human security.
