ITF signed grant contract with Japan
On 21 March 2012, H.E. Mr. Hideo Yamazaki, Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr. Dorijan Maršič, Director of ITF Enhancing Human Security signed a Grant contract for the “Project for support of demining in Bihać and Velika Kladuša”.
On 21 March 2012, H.E. Mr. Hideo Yamazaki, Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr. Dorijan Marši?, ITF Enhancing Human Director signed a Grant contract for the “Project for support of demining in Biha? and Velika Kladuša”. Mr. Albin Musi? Mayor of Biha?, Mr. Admil Mulali? Mayor of Velika Kladuša, Mr. Dušan Gavran Director of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Center as well as local media representatives attended the Official ceremony of signing the Grant contract in Japan Embassy in Sarajevo.
Donation in the amount of 420.000,00 EUR will be used for purpose of technical survey and demining activities of 333.372 sq.m.,at the eleven locations in Municipalities Biha? and Velika Kladuša. Demining and technical survey will create condition for safe use of local roads in Municipalities Biha? and Velika Kladuša as well as safe maintenance of power lines and water supply utilities. It would also improve safety for local population, working and living in vicinity and will be support to development and exploitation of touristic potential in the region.
Donation of Japan will be matched by the donation of the Government of the United States of America and will be used for demining and technical survey activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2009 the Government of Japan donated 550.000,00 EUR through ITF for demining and technical survey activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where in total an area of 591.556 sq.m. was cleared.
