Cooperation between ITF and Demining Fund of Vukovar Srijem County continues
The International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victim Assistance (ITF) and Vukovar Srijem County Demining Fund signed on 22 March 2010 yet another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the amount of 1,5 million Croatian kunas.
The MoU was signed in the Vukovar Srijem County headquarters by Mr. Božo Gali?, the County Prefect of Vukovar Srijem County and Mr. Dorijan Marši?, ITF director. This year's donation will be matched with funds provided by the US and will be used for demining of mine suspected areas in the Vukovar Srijem County.
The cooperation between ITF and Demining Fund of Vukovar Srijem County continues in 2010 with aim to clear mine suspected areas in the Vukovar Srijem County. According to data provided by the Croatian Mine Action centre (CROMAC) the area of Vukovar Srijem County remains to be one of the most mine contaminated areas in Croatia. According to CROMAC estimate for 2010 the Vukovar Srijem County plans to demine approximately 3,8 sq. kilometres.
Since 1998 ITF has raised more than 261 million EURO of donations, cleared more than 100 million sq. meters of land and provided help to more than 1000 mine victims in several rehabilitation centres in the region.
