Adaptation and equipping of a ship for support of humanitarian underwater demining and divers training in Montenegro

From March to May 2006 a project named "Adaptation and equipping of a ship for support of humanitarian underwater demining and divers training" will be carried out in the Regional Center for Underwater Demining - RCUD Bijela, Montenegro in cooperation with ITF. The main purpose of this project is to create appropriate conditions for underwater demining and trainings.

Important goals of the project are:
• To train a suitable number of divers for humanitarian underwater demining from the region of South East Europe for the needs of countries in the region and beyond, which will allow
• demining as much areas contaminated with mines and UXO as possible, and to
• create a Regional center for underwater demining that would be economically independent and that would be of public use for underwater counter-mine actions, in South Eastern Europe region and wider.
