ITF Supports Vulnerable Communities in Ukraine
The coronavirus pandemic disproportionally affected struggling communities around the world. Among them are many families living in regions of Ukraine that were also faced with recent armed conflicts. To help support those who have experienced the biggest hardships, ITF partnered with the Ukrainian organisation GCS to prepare and distribute much-needed everyday supplies.
Thanks to the generous donation of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the support of ITF, volunteers in Ukraine were able to purchase food, disinfectants, and other protective equipment as well as school supplies from local suppliers in Ukraine. These items were packaged, prepared for transport, and delivered to families living in several regions of the country.

The provision of protective equipment is particularly important, as it will enable communities living in difficult conditions to participate in everyday activities, thus helping to increase their resilience in these challenging times.
Altogether, the volunteers delivered packages in Kromatorsk, Slovians, Mariupol (Donetsk), Lyschansk, Sievierodonetsk (Luhanks), Kherson, Izmail, Troyany, Khrarkiv, Lubny, and Smila as well as the cities of Kiev and Mariupol. 297 Ukrainian families received the supplies and resources that will enable them to stay safe and healthy.

ITF is grateful to the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their financial support of the project as well as to all the local volunteers in Ukraine for their hard work in making these activities possible.
